HOME GARDENING

Home growing food has more nutrients and several health benefits. Buying fresh foods and vegetables from the market can be expensive, and the disadvantages of it is that, the produces may have been preserved by chemicals that will make it remain fresh, and also  protect it from pests. The intake of such food may cause accumulation of dangerous chemical in our bodies which may threaten our health in the nearest Future.

Home growing food not only provide health benefits but also help in saving money, and provide access to fresh and safe farm produces. Many are interested in farming but has no land or yard. Interestingly, farming is more than that, it is not a must you own a land before you can grow your own food. Here are great ways to grow food without a land.

Bag gardening: Gardening in bags is a simple way of growing food almost anywhere. All you have to do is to pick up a few bags, fill them with soil, then plant your seeds, and you’re ready to go.

Container gardening: Use containers such as sinks, bathtubs, barrels, and plastic buckets with holes drilled in the bottom. You can grow your vegetables using this. Put enough soil (fertile) and organic matter (manure) in the container. Next, plant the veggies seeds in the container. Then place the container in a sunny area, and water whenever the top inch of the soil is dry.

Display case gardening: In a display case, lay out your plants and root them in a mixture of soil and charcoal. You will have to water them regularly.

Bottle gardening: It is very easy, all you need to get is empty bottle. Cut the bottle into two sections, then insert the neck into the bottle base which will hold the water. Next, add your soil and your seeds.

Teacup gardening: You can do this by drilling a small hole in the bottom of a discarded teacup. Place one or more tablespoons of pea gravel in the bottom of the cup. Next, fill the cup with good quality potting soil. Use a mix containing vermiculite, perlite or peat moss to facilitate drainage. Make one or more teacup garden plants. You can add decorations to beautify it if you like.

Agriculture is very beautiful and interesting. As we all know health is life, and the food we eat has a significant impact on our health. Let's be watchful of what we eat, and also we should try growing some foods as this will give access to fresh, nutritious and chemical free farm produces.
